Professor Rosaline (Rose) Barbour invites you to join her for the launch of her new book, Introducing Qualitative Research: A Student's Guide: Second Edition. This event will begin with a half-day taster workshop (14:00-16:45) 'Facilitating qualitative research skills: a workshop for teachers and supervisors' and be followed by the book launch 17:00-19:00

The half-day workshop (14:00-16:45) is aimed at people who teach qualitative methods or who are involved in supervising students employing these methods. It will examine the challenges involved including how to engage students with a quantitative or practice background; conveying the iterative nature of the endeavour; guiding students through the process of analysis; and supporting them as they write-up. Hints will be provided on how to maximize student learning and progress. The workshop will involve some hands-on group work, focusing on and reviewing the potential of exercises featured in the latest edition of the book and its accompanying website.

Workshop delegates are then invited to join us for the book launch (with short presentations and canap├ęs & drinks) from 17:00-19:00

The workshop and book launch are both free of charge.
