Open Access

I am doing some work on Open Access issues for the Academy of Social Sciences. It has just been brought to my attention that EPSRC are requiring any social scientist receiving their funds to publish in
journals that conform to their Open Access policies, which require free deposit in repositories after six months, where the time period for ESRC and AHRC-funded work is twelve months.

This may, in practice, make it difficult for any social scientist funded by EPSRC to publish anywhere if social science journals follow ESRC policies. Does anyone have information on whether MRC and Wellcome (and possibly BBSRC) are applying the RCUK statement in the same way?

Please reply off-list.
