Liverpool and Lancaster Universities Collaboration for Public Health Research (LiLaC)

The universities of Lancaster and Liverpool wish to appoint two senior research fellows to work on a programme of research within the Liverpool and Lancaster Universities Collaboration for Public Health Research (LiLaC). LiLaC is a member of the School of Public Health Research (SPHR) funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). SPHR was launched in April 2012 and is a collaboration between eight leading academic centres in England. It aims to increase the evidence base for effective public health practice.

One post will be based in Lancaster (with Professor Jennie Popay) and one in Liverpool (with Professor Margaret Whitehead), with extensive joint working. You will be expected to lead and contribute to primary applied public health research and evidence reviews with a particular focus on action to reduce health inequalities; to disseminate findings widely; engage in knowledge exchange activities; develop and win research bids and collaborate with other SPHR members on school-wide research projects. There may also be opportunities to contribute to supervision of postgraduate students and to teaching programmes. You should have an established research portfolio in a relevant area, including a record of regular publication, successful leadership of research projects, and a track record of securing external funding for research. The posts are available until 31 March 2017.
